OSTEI is a tool which facilitates instructors and lecturers in building on-line questionnaire for educational purposes.  The basic requirement in accessing to the system is Internet connection.  With OSTEI, you can contrive your own questionnaire on the web.  You have the option to select a built-in questionnaire from the system or to design your own.  OSTEI is an open system and there are no mechanism which validates users entering the system.  With this on-line facility, you can conduct informal questionnaire or survey on web at any period of time. It also helps to obtain feedback from students with minimal administrative work.

You must assign a Questionnaire ID to each questionnaire.  Each questionnaire is made up of different sections.  Section is a category which groups questions that relate to similar issues.  For example, questions concerning about the aspect of a course can be grouped under the section labeled "THE COURSE".  You can create as many sections as desirable.  You can also add as many questions to a section as you like.  OSTEI will allow you to either choose a question from the system question bank or to create one by yourself.  When making a question, five different types of question options are available for you to choose from: Text Box, Large Text  Box, Pulldown Option, Radio Button and Check Box.  This means that you can create open-ended questions as well as multiple choice questions online.

Students can access to a specific questionnaire with a given Questionnaire ID and the instructor's username.  Instructors can collect the results on-line as well.  The statistical report is a frequency chart with the count for each answer of all questions.
