  1.  National Bureau of Economic Research A research consortium that publishes many of the best working papers in macroeconomics and has much useful data, especially on aspects of the US economy.
  2.  Statistical Resources on the Web Great collection of links to statistical data on the Web maintained by University of Michigan library.
  3.  Economagic An extensive collection of post-war US time series (and some other countries). This site is a pay site, but makes its data available for free. You have to pay to download the data in a convenient format.
  4.   Free Lunch  An even more extensive collection of US data and free to boot. A service of RFA.
  5.  CIA World Factbook Extensive current, quantitative information about every country on the planet.
  6.  Econbase North-Holland publishes many good economics journals. You can download papers from current issues of many of them here (if your institution is a subscriber).
